Glenmore Christian Academy is an Christian alternative school under the Palliser Regional Schools #26. The school uses the approved Alberta Curriculum, taught by certificated teachers. Since its inception in 1980, the school has a history of providing quality Christian education in an academic environment.
The Kindergarten to Grade 9 program includes four classes of Kindergarten (@18 students), four classes of Grade One (@18 students), three classes each of Grades Two (@22 students),Three through Six(@25 students), and two classes of Grade Seven through Nine (@25 students). The facilities are appproximately 80,000 square feet which includes the classrooms, library, two computer labs, large gymnasium (2nd full sized gymnasium currently under construction), 550 seat theatre and cafeteria. Strong sports programs provide for those students who wish to excel in athletics. An emphasis on Fine Arts, including Art, Drama, Band, and Music programs enhance the school program. Computer technology is abundant. Students have access to one of the two computer labs plus a mobile computer cart or through classroom computers. The school is governed by a Board of Directors, appointed by the GCA Educational Society membership and operates as an alternative public school under Palliser Regional Schools. The school has an affiliation with First Alliance Church of the Christian & Missionary Alliance. The school has been consistently recognized by the Fraser Institute as one of the top 10 elementary schools in the Province of Alberta, having tied for 1st place in February 2005.
